Andra Kouyate comes from a griot family and started music at 7 years old with his father Mustapha Kouyate. He created a new instrument, the N’goni bass, a kind of african bass with a very particular sound. He toured during 8 years with Rokia Traore, and played as well with Toumani Diabate and Ali Farka Toure. He is actually touring with his brother Basekou Kouyate & Ngoni Ba. |
